Outer Sunset Farmers’ Market & Mercantile

Sunset Neighborhood Journal

July 12th, 2020

Today was the second weekend of the Outer Sunset Farmers’ Market & Mercantile. Organizer, Angie Petitt-Taylor, met with other nonprofit organizers like POPS and Gordon Mar’s office, to make improvements to safety and efficiency after last week’s opening weekend. The result was greater opportunities for social distancing and everyone seemed to be feeling safe and easy to move around between booths.

There were again, lots of fresh produce and specialized food being served. There were fun and games for the kids, Gordon Mar had a booth manned by Edward Wright. He brought everyone up to date on what Gordon Mar’s doing for the Sunset Community during these hard times of the Corona Virus. The market takes place every Sunday from 9am-3pm and is located on 37th avenue between Ortega & Pacheco streets.

POPS was present, with Albert Chow and his family, making the rounds. Christian Routzen of San FranPsycho was selling the tote bag coproduced with Sunset Strong, to promote small businesses in the area; 7.$ of every tote bag sale, is donated to Project Homeless Connect.

Everybody was having a good time, and it was a beautiful day for the Farmers Market vendors and participants today.
